Mon was also my friend, Vicki's birthday. We've known each other since we were five, but I won't say how many years that is! lol. This is a card we made last Thur in my technique class. It uses designer paper from the new catalog and I love the way it opens to show off both sides of the paper. Embossing a bold image in white directly on the dsp is stunning, especially if the dsp is dark. The ribbon (our new polkadot grosgrain) is done in a simple way with no knots so it's less bulky to mail and it doesn't use much ribbon. First, make two holes with the double rectangle punch (this ribbon is 1/2" wide, so it helped to punch the holes 1-1/2 times to make them a little bigger for the wider ribbon). Second, thread both ribbon ends through the holes from front to back. Then cross them in the back and thread them from back to front. Last, trim the ribbon. Hint: cut your ribbon ends at an angle to thread more easily.
