This card was copied almost exactly from cards I saw here.  I changed the punch used for the buckle.  I think the sentiment from the Just Believe set is perfect for this card!

sets - just believe, sassy salutations
cs - real red 8.5 x 5.5", blk 4.25 x 1" belt and scraps for buttons, wh 3.75 x 5' guts and beard, champagne or silver glimmer paper
ink - blk and real red pads

punches - 1/2" circle, 1" sq, curly label

Notes:
  1. Punch out the square and center the curly label punch over the hole to create the buckle.
  2. Adhere the blk belt across the red card; then adhere glimmer buckle on top and the blk belt will show through the 1" sq opening.

Dec Club Projects

Santa Card

Santa Card, inside

Tri Fold Shutter Card

Tri Fold Shutter Card, open

Tri Fold Shutter Card, open bird's eye view
We had a lot of fun making these two projects.  The first card, the Santa card, was copied from my friend, Cheryl, except for the inside.  On the inside we used a Cherry Cobbler marker to ink up a single phrase on the Jolly Jingles jumbo wheel.

The Tri fold Shutter card is easier than it looks.  You simply score the width of a 5.5" x 12" piece of cs at 2", 4", 8" and 10", we used cherry cobbler.  Then you create two parallel slits on the length of the cs between the first and last score lines, 1.5" from each edge.  Next you add DSP (we used Be of Good Cheer) to each section, cut with about 1/16" border around the DSP.  Finally we stamped images with the Snow Much Fun set in whisper white craft ink  and embossed them with white ep on Gumball Green cs.  We cut out the images and popped up the ones on front with dimensionals.  The Merry Christmas sentiment from Sassy Salutations is stamped with cobbler ink on vanilla cs and is wrapped with a piece of cobbler seam binding.

Happy Stamping!  Mary

Happy Thanksgiving!

by Pat Sculte

by Shelagh Spafford
I was delighted when I received these two beautiful Thanksgiving cards.   I'm sorry to say I didn't send any cards out this year.

We are hosting Thanksgiving again this year, but with a small group.  My DH likes to host every year so we don't have to travel or worry about rotating between parents.

Happy Stamping and enjoy the holiday!  Mary

SUO Christmas CAS Challenge

Card #1 - My Families' Choice

card #1 inside

card #2 - A Small Step Up with Cherry Cobbler Mat and Offset Greeting
card #2 inside
SUO's Challenge last Tue was to create a "Clean and Simple" (CAS) Christmas Card.  I'm not sure if this card fits the requirements, but I think it does.  Simple Window cards easily create dimension.  The Big Shot, dimensionals and sponging gives it lots of texture and interest.  My boys liked the reindeer.   They like the greeting centered.  What do you think?

I like the 2nd version with the cherry cobbler matting and offset greeting better than card #1.  My family chose the first card, though.  Since I'm so late getting started on my cards, it's a good choice.  There's not much cutting and very little to adhere!  Also, the colors are so deep and rich that they look good without having to heat emboss the image or greetings.  Finally, there are no embellishments so it's a good mailing choice.

Supplies:
sets - holiday minis (retired in 2002, wow I can't believe this set is ten yrs old!) and christmas blessings (I just love the font on the greetings)
cs - very vanilla and cherry cobbler on card #2
ink - early espresso, cherry cobbler, wild wasabi pads
access - Big Shot, snow flurries TIEF, sponge, decorative label punch, extra large oval punch, dimensionals

Are You Peeking?

Here are a couple more Peekaboo Circle cards I made with the A Fitting Occasion set.  The cupcake is from the Itty Bitty Bits set.  The cherry is from the Create a Cupcake set.  The greeting on the first card is from Sassy Salutations and on the second card it's from A Word for You.

I just love these cards.  They're really not as hard as they appear, but have a big wow factor.  Try one and let me know what you think!

Nov Club Cards - Peekaboo Circle

first card

second card
first card, inside

second card, inside
These are the peekaboo circle cards we made at Club last week.  They are one of those mechanical type cards that you get addicted to opening up over and over again!  I first got a similar type of card from my husband years ago and wondered if I could figure out how to make one, stuck it in a drawer and never attempted anything, lol.

Then back in May, one of my customers (Pat) showed me a cute card she had made and told me about the link she'd found on Dawn Griffith's blog with a great video tutorial

At first I thought it'd be great to use the Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets, but they were a little difficult to punch through with the detailed scallop circle punch.  I ended up using snail to adhere the circles, like Dawn does, but used a thin bead of  multipurpose "green glue" around the circle opening and then applied the scalloped and plain circle frames.  I also used a smaller 1-1/4"circle punch because it fit the image from Just Believe better and the frames were a little larger, making them easier to glue down (I'm all about easy, lol).  Also, the Petite Pairs images still fit in them.

Supplies, Card #1:
sets - just believe, petite pairs
cs - wisteria  wonder, whisper white, flirtatious dsp
ink - wisteria wonder pad, elegant eggplant pad
access - wisteria ruffled gg ribbon, sticky strip, green glue, snail, mini glue dots (to help hold ribbon firmly in place)
punches - 1-1/4" circle, 1-3/4" scallop circle, scallop border

Supplies, Card #2:
sets - a fitting occasion, a word for you, itty bitty bits
cs - island indigo, whisper white, ic dsp
ink - island indigo pad, real red marker, optional
access - island indigo baker's twine, sticky strip, green glue, snail, stamp-a-ma-jig
punches - 1-1/4" circle, 1-3/4" circle, decorative label

I will post some other peekaboo circle cards I made, so be sure to check back tomorrow!

Happy Birthday Cheryl!

This is the card I mailed to my friend, Cheryl, whose birthday was on Wed 11/14.  I hope she likes it!  I love the fun colors and butterflies.

Papa's b-day was Wed, too, but his card  was the same one I made in class a while back and have given different versions of to various men in my life.

Supplies:
sets- petite pairs, papillion potpourri
colors - calypso coral, pool party, whisper white
punches - 1-1/4" circle, scallop circle, scallop border
other - ic ruffled gg ribbon, green glue, sticky strip, and snail* of course.

*I usually use snail, whether I list it or not.

Happy 16th Birthday Chris!

colors - vanilla, artichoke, espresso

Simply Scored Box
Simple Masculine Card using button I found in the Wash!

What's your wish?
My son, Chris, turned 16 on Monday.  Today he takes his driving test to get his license! Am I really that old?  The insurance rates will go up!  My license was suspended last month due to the progression of my MS so I'm glad he'll be driving.  I got evaluated for adaptive hand controls and hopefully I'll be driving again soon!
