Vacation

Sorry I haven't been posting. We were on vacation. We spent a few days in SLO with my older brother, Mark. We went to the beach two of the days and the weather was spectacular. The boys had a great time boogie boarding and I had a good time lounging on the beach and reading. I was able to rent (for free) a beach wheelchair. The first day I got to use an electric beach wheelchair. That was awesome!

Then we went to Carlsbad and spent some time with my childhood friend and her family (photo above). We went to Legoland which is only three exits away from her house! We had a great time trying out her new pool and waterslide.

Back to reality and LAUNDRY - ugh

Happy Anniversary

When I visited my mom for her birthday a couple weeks ago, we made some flower pot pocket cards. They are a lot of fun and great for lots of occasions. I decided to turn one of them into an anniversary card for my husband. Today is our 18th wedding anniversary! A lot of her stamps are now retired. Some of the supplies are also contraband (non SU). I'll post another of these types of cards in a couple days. Gotta go finish laundry now!

Sunday I held my first ever customer Shoebox Event. Participants designed a card, brought the sample and all the necessary supplies to make that card. We set up "stations" and then went around the table making each others cards. There were six of us and we had a lot of fun! Each card was unique. Everyone brought lots of great munchies to share and I had a drawing for door prizes, which Pat and Elisa won.
I hope we can do this again real soon! Maybe we could do a Christmas Shoebox and swap cookies! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Happy 50th Anniversary!

Last Saturday we attended the 50th wedding anniversary party of some good friends. I used one of the first SU sets I ever got, Victorian Frame. It has a lot of different images that can be stamped in the middle where I stamped the heart, but it seems I usually use the heart image. I embossed the frame in gold and "50" in the center circle on shimmery white cardstock. Then I stamped the heart in rose red classic ink over the 50. It's a neat effect, but hard to see in this photo. I also watercolored some of the details in the frame. Then I matted it with black and layered it on a gold card using dimensionals (snail doesn't hold really well on the brushed metallic cardstocks). It was very sparkly and pretty.

Supplies:
sets - victorian frame, brushstroke numbers, eclectic corners
cs - shimmery white, basic black, brushed metallic gold
ink - versamark, rose red, always artichoke and ballet blue pads
access - gold ep, aquapainters, dimensionals, heat gun and embossing buddy

Happy Birthday Mom!

Aug 5th was my mom's birthday (81 years young!). The boys and I went to visit her Tue and returned Thur. I gave her "Inspired By Nature" along with some other items, but I forgot to take a photo of the cool Tri-Shutter card I made her. I want to make some more and I'll upload them when I do. Anyhow, the set inpired us to do a little stamping and this is one of the cards I made. I colored the ribbon slide with my summer sun marker, but it's hard to tell in the picture. I love my new butterfly punch! The brad in the middle holds the wings up and away from the card like it's flying.

Supplies:
sets- inspired by nature
cs - old olive, summer sun, chocolate chip, naturals ivory
ink - summer sun, old olive, chocolate chip
access - moss ribbon, vanilla HPH, 5/16" brad, 1/16" handheld punch, dimensionals, butterfly punch
