Demonstrator Shoebox Event. Aug 8th

Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile, but I have been gone for 4 or more days at a time, then home for 2 (just enough time for laundry), then gone again. The boys started back to school today, so hopefully I can blog and stamp a little more. Anyway, enough of my whining.

Here are the cards we made at a Shoebox swap in Vacaville. I'm in a group of very talented ladies and it's so much fun to get together with them! Denise, my 3rd up-line, organizes these events a couple times a year. Everyone brings the supplies in a "shoebox" and a sample of a card for everyone else to create. We go around the room and make each other's cards. It's so much fun! Some demonstrators came from as far away as Reno, Nevada. Demonstrators can submit door prizes and Denise Raffles them off. She also raffles off some SU merchandise that she brings. I didn't win anything this time, but Denise let me have a little Halloween treat box. I will tell who brought each card for the ones that I know. Three of the cards were already done and we just had to make one of our own and swap it.

We make an extra card and hang it with a clothespin on a "chicken wire" frame so we can vote on our favorite (nearly impossible to do!). I took some of the photos of the cards hanging on the frame, some on the table as I made the card, and some after I got home. Sorry for the poor quality of my photos.

This card was by?

This card was by Carol. It used the Jolly Old St Nick set and Glass Glitter that will be available on Sept 1 in the new Holiday Mini Catalog.

This card was by Denise (who organized this event)

This box by Sharon uses the Spider Web embossing Folder and the Candy Wrapper Bigz L Die from the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog.

This card was by my good friend, Cheryl. This was the first time she was able to attend. We drove together and were so busy talking that we missed the exit!

This cute box was by Lisa. The box itself is created from a single sheet of Rich Razzleberry card stock with a Top Note attached to the top and bottom.

I'm bummed that I didn't have time to make this card (by ?) It was inspired by the Just Believe card on page 109 of the new Idea Book and Catalog (IBC).

This card was by ? I didn't have time to make it either, but I have the set! I'm very slow.

This was by Patti L. It's adorable. You can find a link to the pattern on her blog. I didn't have time to create my own sample, so Gina helped me out; wasn't that sweet of her?

and this is the inside . . . Do you think those chocolate kisses are still in my sample? lol

This is Lynda's magnetic bookmark using the table setting die and the new owl punch. My fingers aren't so nimble, so she helped me put mine together. Isn't it adorable? I noticed on her blog that she's made a bunch of owl cards that are so cute!

The box on the left was the door prize I got and the mini milk carton on the right was one of the swaps we made. I'm not sure who's it was maybe Gina's?

The next card was Mary Beth's. It's made with the stamp set "Happiness Shared" on p100. I had never noticed that set, but her card sure made me notice it!

This card was by Joanne B and is much prettier than my photo. It uses the level-2 hostess set and the 1/8" real red taffeta ribbon that will be available in the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog. You can earn Peaceful Season for FREE when you hostess qualifying workshop.

The card on the left was by Deirdre. I just love it's simplicity. The card on the right was by ?

This card was by Vicki, but she wasn't at our event this time -miss you Vicki!

Ok, that's everyone's card but my own! I must have forgotten to take a photo of it. I'll show it in a different post along with some of the other prizes and card samples Denise had displayed. I'm all tuckered out now. Nighty Night!

Mary
