We are getting new granite countertops and new wood floors. When they demolished the tile countertops and pulled the sink, they found that the hotwater pipe was corroded. When they went to fix it the pipes, they found the wallboard was mouldy and wet. When they pulled off the wallboard, some of the floor boards had dryrot. Then they found the floor needed jacking up.
Isn't this pretty? Haha. We have a huge hole in the middle of our kitchen!
Well, they fixed the plumbing and the dryroted beams in the walls last night by 8:30pm. This morning they were here at 7:30 am to jack up the floors and put in new subflooring. They also need to add sheetrock to the walls and put the cabinets back so the granite countertops can be installed this afternoon. Hopefully I'll have a picture of the granite countertops tomorrow!In the meantime I have been making some really cute boxes with my new Big Shot. I hope to post a picture of that soon.
