Masculine May Club

This month I decided to make masculine cards for Club.

I can't remember where I got the pattern for the little origami shirt on this first card. I've made it lots of times. Recently I made it for my son's basketball coach (I'll have to post a photo of that card). He always has the boys come to the games dressed up with ties so I thought it would be cute.
Colors: night of navy, daffodil delight and old olive
I texturized the card base using the Big Shot and the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from Delightful Dozen. The Happy Father's Day greeting on the card below is from that set also.

I saw this tutorial by Susan Carlson a year ago and wanted to make it in a class ever since! I used Peach Parfait dsp since it will be retiring, and adapted my directions to use the Simply Scored Tool. It's really a fairly simple card. Susan has a pretty good tutorial, so I won't re-create the wheel.

Basketball Thank You Card

My son's frosh basketball coach always had the team dress in ties on game days, so I thought this would be an appropriate thank you card or him. It uses Concord Crush card stock and designer paper.

BAM Fundraiser Stamp Camp

Card #1 uses the retiring Upsy Daisy set. The card base is Riding Hood Red. We stamped the image in RHR ink on Blush Blossom dsp, retiring. The sentiment was stamped with a black craft pad, then embossed with vanilla scented ep, which is still available as a carry over item from the Occasions Mini. Then the paper is torn following the line of the flowers to add texture. The bird is punched from black card stock to give it a silhouette look and popped up on dimensionals.

Card #2 uses the Thoughts and Prayers set and a sentiment from Happiest Birthday Wishes. I wanted to have a masculine option and I thought this fit the bill. The designer paper is Twitterpated and works great with Pear Pizzazz and Basic Gray.

Card #3 used a retired set, Close As A Memory, and a wonderfully versatile sentiment set that will be retiring, Sincere Salutations. It was such an easy card to make with the eyelet border punch and taffeta ribbon. I like the Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy color combo. What are some of your favorite color combos?

Card #4 is from a simply sent kit and very easy to complete. You get to choose the Baja Breeze or the Cherry Cobbler version.

Card #5. The lace border punch is retiring. I can't wait to see what new punches SU has in store for us!

These are the cards we made at my fundraiser last Thur and this past Mon. I am donating the class fee and 20% of orders placed those two days to Build A Miracle. We raised over $100.

Hope you enjoyed seeing the cards! Mary

Congrats Rhett! Retiring Merchandise Update

.

This is the card I made for my nephew who is getting confirmed. I smudged the sentiment a bit, but he's a 16 yr old boy and won't care. It went together very quickly because I already had the dry embossed card base and just needed to stamp/heat emboss the image and sentiment.

The finial press textured embossing folder is retiring:( The dove image is from a very old retired set, Victorian Frame, that I love to use. Don't miss the opportunity to get a retiring set that you really love!

UPDATE: Check out the retiring product. Go to "Promotions" on my website. Stamp Sets will be available until May 31, 2012. Accessories are only available while they last. SU did make a mistake on the list, though. The craft scissors and paper snips are not retiring. If you really want an accessory that's retiring I suggest you put in an order online. However, if you don't care too much and want to risk not getting it, I can place the order for you.

Fresh Vintage, revisited

I really like the Fresh Vintage set that was available for free during Sale-a-bration. I made this last month at my friend, Cheryl's. It was her design and I like the colors she used (Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy). The Happiest Birthday sentiment is from the Occasions Mini which will end April 30th. The inside sentiment is from the main catalog which is retiring at the end of May.

Well, my nephew is getting confirmed this weekend, so I have too make him a quick card and get it in the mail tomorrow.

SUO Challenge

The current SUO Challenge is to create a card with a set from the current Occasions Mini (the catalog ends at the end of this month), or any retiring set. See the SUO link to the right for more info about this fun challenge.

Here I embossed the teacup image with whisper white ink and e.p. on bashful blue card stock; then I cut it out. The saucer was created by embossing the floral image from "Elements of Style" set in white on an oval of bashful blue cs and embossed with the Big Shot and designer frames embossing folder. The quote is stamped with Night of Navy ink on White cs, punched out with the tag punch, and "attached" with a piece of white Baker's Twine. Finally, everything is layered on a Bashful Blue card with a Night of Navy layer that was texturized with the stripes embossing folder and a piece of white taffeta ribbon.

Enjoy! Mary
