Convention Swaps

Darlene Saduk, uses IC's

Susan Kwok

unknown
I don't know who made the last card, but I do remember speaking with her.  She used washi tape on an extra piece of cs so the texture wouldn't show through.  I think it's a great masculine card.

CAS Butterfly CASE

Original White on White

Calypso Sponged Wings

Textured White Butterflies
I just love this card!  I totally CASE'd this card by Karren.  It was a winner of the SUO Get Well Card challenge.  She lists all the supplies so I won't bother.   I really like Clean And Simple (CAS) cards.

First Cheryl and I copied the card exactly.  She thought it was too white and we tried embossing the white butterflies with the fancy fan TIEF.  I also tried sponging the wings.  My photo's dark because I was losing sunlight, sorry.

I think I like Karen's version best, or maybe the textured version.  What do you think?  We also tried it with rhinestones, but I like the pearls better.

Good Times with a Good Friend

My friend Cheryl and I got together and she showed me some cards she made.  The last one was her version of a swap from Convention I showed her.  It uses the magical masking tape technique.  I had told her how to do it and she said it was very easy!  I can't wait to try it.  We even had time to stamp a little.  I'll show you those cards Monday.

His/Her Class Cards

Masculine Card #1
I got my idea for this card from our Stampin' Success magazine, and changed it slightly.  Theirs was just a vanilla card, which looked good.  I made mine a basic gray card & added a candy dot to step it up a little.  You can see how I changed it a little more, adding color, for my Convention swap.

SUPPLIES:
sets - By the Tide, Teeny Tiny Wishes
cs - 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" basic grey card and 3@ 1-3/8" basic gray squares, 2@ 5-1/4" x 4" very vanilla and 3@ 1-1/4" vanilla squares
ink - basic grey pad
access - neutrals candy dots, dimensionals

Masculine Card #2
I was going to make this card for a second swap for Convention, but I ran out of time.  I did make a bunch for my husband to use for his 50th b-day ty's.  I made some slightly different versions, but settled on this one.

SUPPLIES:
sets - Six-Sided Sampler
cs - 11" x 4-1/4"  and scraps very vanilla, 2@ 4" x 3/4" Modern Medley dsp
ink - basic black pad

I just love this cardI was inspired by this card that my friend, Shelagh, gave me. Sometimes a simple technique such as stamping off can have such a big effect!
