Here's a fun card my friend Cheryl made using the medallion stamp and the popping pastels technique. I'm showing her cards this week. Aren't they just great?

Fly Butterfly, Be Free!

Here's another beautiful card by my friend Cheryl. I'll be posting her cards all this week as we start our house renovations and bathroom remodel. The butterfly is cut out and layered over the stamped image so that it looks like it will take flight. The border images are masked. Cheryl said it was a lot of work, but the results are worth it, don''t you think? The set is Simple Friendship, $25.95.

Cheryl's Cool Cards

My friend Cheryl stopped by on Wed to quickly produce a bunch of little leaves with my new Big Shot. She showed me these cards that she made the day before. The first 3 cards use sets from the Holiday Mini Catalog. The last one uses a technique with the shimmery paints. It looks awesome in real life.

Quail Card - Big Shot, Top Note die

cs - soft suede, very vanilla, so saffron

ink - soft suede, so saffron

access - sponge, dimensionals, soft suede polka dot ribbon, scallop square punch, top note bigz die and Big shot

Flower Pot card with Always Bird - embossing, tp technique

Supplies:

sets - always

cs - nqn, vanilla

ink - dusty durango, nqn classic and craft pads

access - clear ep, eyelet border punch, durango polka dot ribbon, tp, dimensionals

Pink Birthday Card - coloring with markers directly on stamp

Supplies -
sets - circle circus, on your b-day

cs - pip, ww, textured melon mambo, razzleberry lemonade dsp, rich razzleberry

ink - melon mambo, crushed curry, rich razzleberry pads and markers

access - mm ribbon, 1", 1-1/4", scallop circle punches, 1/16" handheld punch, fire rhinestone brads, dimensionals

Butterfly card - stamp-a-ma-jig

Supplies:
stamps - flight of the butterfly, circle circus
cs - whisper white, so saffron, razzleberry lemonade dsp
ink - pumpkin pie, apricot appeal
access - 1-3/4" circle, scallop edge and butterfly punches, dimensionals, polka dot ribbon, paper piercer and mat pack

We had a great techniques class Thur. I was so proud of myself for designing the cards instead of totally c.a.s.ing everything, lol. Well, I was inspired by this card when I made the Always card. I love the little quails from "Happy Together". Aren't they just the cutest little birds? Caralee embossed the quail in nqn and put it in front of her flower pot instead of the always bird. It was stinking cute!!!! Wish I had gotten a photo to show you.

Peggy's cards - sets: Chic Botique, C is for Cat, A Little Birdie Told Me

Peggy brought in the cat and birdcage cards that she made recently. They are the cutest ever! I'm going to have to restrain myself to not rush out and buy those sets. I love her color combos, clean look and the way she combined the sets.

Sweet Treat Cup Card

This fun Halloween card uses the new sweet treat cups from the mini catalog. My friend Cheryl made this card at a demonstrator event that I missed while I was on vacation. I bought some of these fun cups and can't wait to turn my mental picture into reality. All I'm going to say right now is it involves the bear image from Under the Stars set.

Cheryl's Flower Pot Pocket Card

Here's my friend Cheryl's version of the flower pot pocket card. I showed her how to make these last month and we had a lot of fun playing around with them. These cards are great because you can use them for a variety of cards: thank you, get well, anniversary, birthday, etc. You can use punches, the big shot, hand cut flowers, etc. We've mainly used terra cotta colored pots, but you could easily change the color scheme.

September Club Cards

Below is another, similar, flower pot pocket card where a couple of the flowers were punched with the Big Shot

Our Club kicked off on Sept. 6th and made these two great cards. The yellow-toned Flight of the Butterfly card uses the fun butterfly punch and the Flower Pot Pocket card uses the smallest butterfly from the Big Shot, Beautiful Butterflies die. It's hard to see in the photo, but each of the scallops on the first card is pierced.

access - dusty durango polka dot ribbon, eyelet border punch, Big Shot, Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die, 1/16" handheld punch, 1/2" circle & scallop circle punches, fire rhiestone circle brad

I visited my friend Cheryl recently and photographed all the cool cards she made at our group meeting (that I was unable to attend). I'll be posting those in the next few days.

Happy Belated Birthday Daria!

This is a tri-shutter card I made for my friend Daria. I started it at the beginning of Aug, but by the time I finished I had to add a belated birthday greeting! Oh well. They actually aren't that hard to make. I think it's a little easier if you use dsp. Would you like a tutorial? I have an idea for another one, so maybe I'll take photos of the step -by-step process.

cs - yellow, white, various dsp scraps for paper piecing

ink - yo-yo yellow pad and marker, brilliant blue pad and marker, green galore pad, real red pad, pixie pink pad, basic black pad, blush blossom marker, bordering blue marker, only orange marker
