Paper Pumpkin Try It Class

Amazing Journals! We had so much fun creating the two journals that come in the Paper Pumpkin Try It Kit.  The kit comes with step by step directions to make the journal pictured on the right.  I pulled out my Elegant butterfly punch, card stock (Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit and Island Indigo) and some dimensionals to spice up the second journal a little bit.  There were enough extra pre-printed self adhesive butterfly cut outs to add to the inside pages (which I forgot to photo).

Aren't these little journals just darling!?  The kit comes with a size "D" clear block, an Island Indigo stampin' spot, two blank journals, exclusive Summer Starfruit baker's twine  and two clear mount stamps (a row of dots and the sentiment "jots and thoughts").

Farewell Fr. Donnie!

Fr. Donnie's Card
One of my favorite priests transferred to a different parish.  I never get to make a card with the sentiment "miss you" and I thought of this set immediately.  I was so excited!  I thought the triple time stamping would be a perfect technique.  I chose colors to make it masculine.  This card has Early Espresso 1/8" taffeta ribbon, but the others use Early Espresso Baker's twine.

Feeling Better

Get Well from Billie

Get Well from Pat
I received these two get well cards when I was sick a couple weeks ago.  Aren't they just beautiful?

Sorry I haven't posted in so long.  I've been caught up in the NBA playoffs.  My husband is 6'7" so we watch a lot of basketball!

I need to send a card to our priest who got moved to a different parish.  He's a great guy and I will really miss him.  I'll post the card soon, so check back!

I also got new supplies that I am just itching to use.  Hope to get some stamp time soon and show you some new creations.

Take A Sunny Spin! May Club

Sunburst Technique
Have you ever lost a week?  I've been ill all week, but am on antibiotics now and beginning to recover.  May 1st was my club and I couldn't attend, but I had the projects ready to go so Shelagh and Peggy taught them to the group.  Thanks sooooo much Shelagh and Peggy!!!!

I totally cased this card from Sherri Gross.  I had never seen this technique before, but then I found another card by Yapha Mason using it.  I couldn't find a tutorial on the technique, so I e-mailed Sherri.  She said some people use a template, but she just cut 4 pieces of dsp at 1" x 4" and cut them diagonally from corner to corner and laid them over a 5-1/4" x 2" base piece of card stock until she liked it, then adhered them and cut off the excess.

It finally worked when I used wider strips of dsp, 1-1/2" x 4", cut diagonally and placed them on a 5" x 2-1/2" base piece, starting in the middle and working my way out.  I scored the base piece at 2-1/2" and put snail on one half at a time and layered on the dsp, butting each piece up against the next, then adding snail to the other side and layering on the dsp.  Finally I cut away the excess dsp, using the base as a guide and finished off the card.
