Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone.  This is just a quick post of the projects we made at Susan's party last weekend.  I'll add details later, but right now I need to go to church and then brunch with the in-laws!

Have a good one.   Jesus Christ, the great redeemer has risen!

SUO Challenge, Easter Card #2

Easter Card, spotlight technique

Easter Card, stepped up version

Easter Card, inside
This is the second card I am entering in SUO's Challenge.  We made it in my Spring into Spring Class today and will  make it again on Sat at Susan's party.  It uses a basic technique ~ spotlighting with punches.  People have the option to "step it up" by running it through the Big Shot with the Lacey Brocade TIEF.  doesn't the texture give it a really rich look?  I originally made it as an Easter card, but I think it would work well as a sympathy card, too.

delightful dozen, crosses of hope
elegant eggplant, whisper white, wisteria wonder
calypso coral pad and marker, wisteria wonder marker, lucky limeade marker
big shot and lacey brocrade TIEF, dimensonals, calypso ruffled grossgrain ribbon, 3/4" and 1" circle punches

Happy Stamping!  Mary

SUO Challenge Easter Card, Punch Bunny

Punch Bunny Card

Punch Bunny Card, inside
I'm so excited about this card!  SUO's latest challenge is to make an Easter card.

Well, I saw this adorable Punch Bunny treat holder by Catherine Pooler and knew I had to C.A.S.E. it.  I did, and that will be a different post.  It was so cute, but I couldn't enter it in SUO's challenge.   Also, I needed to make an Easter card for my Spring Class.  So I decided to use the punch bunny part and add it to a card, only I made my punch bunny slightly different.

Punch Bunny:
  1. Punch a 1-3/4" circle, reinsert the circle part way into the punch two times for the two ears (see Catherine's video)
  2. Punch a 1-3/8" circle for the head
  3. Punch two small ovals for the feet, instead of a 3/4" circle punch so there's more room to adhere them with dimensionals
  4. Sponge all elements
  5. Adhere the ears the back of the head with snail
  6. Adhere the butt to head and feet with dimensionals
  7. Adhere one flower with a dimensional for the tail.  I only wish this was available in white as well as vanilla; maybe I'll try dabbing white craft ink on it.
For the grass I used a method that I saw on Ruth Norton's blog:
  1. use the scallop border punch
  2. cut little triangles out of each scallop.
For the sky element behind the bunny:
  1. Cut out an Oval Accent with the big shot
  2. Cut Accent in half
  3. Brayer Baja Breeze ink over the inside of the Cloudy Day TIEF (the front only, the side that doesn't have any raised dots)
  4. Run the white half Oval Accent piece in the inked TIEF through the big shot

SUPPLIES:
sets - Spring Sampler, Easter Blossom-retired
cs - whisper white, so saffron, Twitterpated dsp, certainly celery, basic gray
ink -  baja breeze pad, basic gray pad, certainly celery pad and marker, primrose petals marker
access - flower trim, big shot, cloudy day TIEF, oval accent bigz die, sponge, dimensionals
punches - dotted scallop ribbon border, scallop border, small oval. 1-3/8" circle. 1-3/4" circle

Now hop on over to SUO and check out all the cute Easter cards!

SAB Class Cards

Recover Rapidly  Card
I love this get well card!  I got the idea from this card on Ruth's blog and she was inspired by this card and got the directions from Lorri's blog.  I changed the dimensions slightly because I had a lot of 3" strips of NQN cs.   Also I like to have a slightly wider tab to snail.

Pop-up tissue box:
6-1/2 x 2-1/2", score at 1-1/2", 3", 4-1/2" and 6"

Note:  After my class I discovered that you can use a smaller tissue than I instructed everyone.
For tissue: cut one tissue in quarters and separate into a single ply.  fold in half, triangle shape, and fold in half again.  Insert tip of triangle (smaller tissue not shown).
Pop-up Tissue Box on inside
sets- patterned occasions, sassy salutations
cs- whisper white, baja breeze, NQN, soft suede
ink- NQN, soft suede, regal rose
access- big shot, designer frames and perfect polka dots TIEF, label framelits, corner rounder, decorative label punch, paper snips, dimensionals
Pop-up Tissue Box on inside (open on the ends)
Flower Card
This easy design was inspired by the DSP, the TIEF and the set!  I love how all the elements coordinate.  I also love how easy it is to stamp with the sassy salutations set - you don't have to worry about getting it crooked!
sets- Madison Ave, Sassy Salutations
cs- razzleberry, white, indigo, tangerine, sycamore street dsp
ink- razzleberry indigo
access- big shot and vine street TIEF, dimensionals, lg rhinestones, indigo ribbon,
bitty butterfly punch, itty bitty punch pack
Flower Card, inside
I punched the dsp flowers and adhered them onto the stamped image for a colorful look.
Smarty Pants Congratulations Card
This card was copied almost exactly from Ruth's.  It's so cute!  I thought the mini clothespins would be perfect for it and tried them on this grad card, but they were a little bulky.  Also I didn't have enough for a class.  They are cute, though, don't you think?
sets- patterned occasions, curly cute
cs- midnight muse, white, espresso coordination, raspberry ripple (heart), garden green
ink- bashful blue, rasberry ripple, midnight muse
access- big shot and cloudy day TIEF and woodgrain TIEF, espresso baker's twine, rhinestones, mini glue dots, dimensionals, scallop border punch, heart to heart punch, retired

Simple SAB Card
I really like this card.  It was inspired by several cards that I saw on Stampin' Connection, an exclusive website for demonstrators.  First I did the stamping on a layer of white cs, ran it through the big shot with the honey comb folder, added the ribbon and popped it up on dimensionals (I used a strip of pool party cs under the ribbon, but this photo doesn't show that).  I also stamped the hummingbird image, cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals.  the card looks good even if you don't run it through the big shot with the TIEF.
sets- bloomin'marvelous
cs- white
ink- cameo coral, retired but you could ty calypso coral, pool party, wild wasabi, espresso
access- big shot and honeycomb TIEF, dimensionals, pool party ribbon, paper snips

St. Patrick's or Good Luck Card
Last card was a choice of the two above - good luck or st. patrick's day.

cs- garden green, wasabi, white, twitterpated dsp
ink- garden green
access- wasabi gg ribbon, dimensionals
punches- full heart punch, modern label, dotted scallop border, 3/4" and 1" circles

Box Card

Box Card, open

Box Card, open
Our next project was a small box card.  When you remove the lid, the bottom "box" opens into a card.  I liked the inside of the second one, but preferred the color combo of the island indigo lid and the pool party ribbon and button.  Which is your favorite?

I have to laugh because the "pinwheel" on top was inspired because after I cut off the corners of the bottom I couldn't bear to throw away those pretty scraps.  I played around with them and came up ith the "oragamish" pinwheel.

SUPPLIES:
sets- patterned occasions -SAB
cs- white, sab sycamore street dsp, island indigo, or summer starfruit
ink- markers- island indigo, rich razzleberry, tangerine tango summer starfruit
access- sab sycamore street ribbon and button pack, mini silver brads, paper piercer and mat pack, large rhinestones, simply scored tool, sticky strip and dimensionals

Small Box Card Directions:

Bottom:
  1. start with 6" square of dsp or card stock
  2. score at 2" and 4"
  3. rotate one quarter turn and score at 2" and 4" again
  4. pre-fold score lines
  5. cut off outer corners, we saved them for the pinwheel
box bottom

corners
 Pinwheel:
  1. fold corners in half, right point over to left point
  2. fold top layer in half, bottom left point up to top point
  3. pierce through all three layers of each
  4. use a mini brad to attach all points together and to the lid

Lid:
  1. start with a 3-5/8" square card stock
  2. score at 3/4" on all sides
  3. pre-fold all score lines
  4. make 4 cuts to create tabs
  5. add sticky strip to tabs and adhere to form lid
